Transformation programmes in the government’s major projects portfolio, and the role of “digital”— Major Projects Association, KPMG Number Twenty, London, 1st March 2017
I enjoyed speaking at this event chaired by Tony Meggs, chief executive of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), which oversaw the Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) and later became the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority.
Much of the recent discussion around major projects had been around improving the capability and experience of project leaders, and the role of the IPA in professionalising project delivery.
So I was pleased that the Major Projects Association, which facilitated discussions on project leadership and explored themes like global trends and the nature of mega-projects, was keen to discuss the increasing role of digital in the successful delivery of the government’s portfolio of transformation projects.
