Global Government Forum hosted the ‘Analogue to Digital: Delivering the NHS 10 Year Plan’ conference in Newcastle upon Tyne on 17 October to launch my report.
Sir Jim Mackey, chief executive of NHS England, gave a keynote speech to 200 delegates including local and national technologists, clinical staff and NHS suppliers. He said a ‘digital-first’ approach is key to improving productivity and financial sustainability and to meeting patients’ expectations.
I chaired a panel session which discussed the report’s findings.

Speakers:
- Andrew Besford, non-executive director at Northumbria Healthcare and Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trusts (moderator)

- David Elliott, chief digital officer at Great North Healthcare Alliance
