Opencast hosted this TechNExt 2024 fringe event to discuss how a user-centred approach could “help make patient-centred healthcare in the NHS a reality”, which I was invited to chair.
In practice I was slightly uncomfortable with the premise of this theme, as the NHS already has significant experience and expertise in driving person-centred approaches to wellbeing, prevention, care and support.
However it did provoke an interesting discussion by bringing together experts from healthcare provision with digital service designers, and helped bridge some of the understanding gap that can exist between these groups.
There is a detailed write-up on the Opencast blog.
