Tessian was a leading AI-powered email security company that protected against threats and data loss, that was acquired by Proofpoint in late 2023, integrating its technology into Proofpoint’s broader security platform. Tessian used machine learning to detect human-centric risks, such as phishing, Business Email Compromise (BEC), and accidental data leaks, by analyzing user behavior, and it provided real-time warnings and automated prevention. Its core offerings, like Tessian Guardian (misdirected emails) and Defender (advanced threats), now form part of Proofpoint’s human layer security for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
