I hosted the panel discussion to launch my NHS digital leadership report, with Sir Jim Mackey giving the keynote.

In ‘A Fresh Mandate for Digital Leadership in the NHS’, I set out what needs to change to meet national ambitions, based on interviews with senior digital leaders.

I am a non-executive director at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust and chair its digital committee, helping drive the trust’s digital ambitions.

I spoke about the implications of AI in health at this event in Manchester with commercial and public sector delegates.

I chaired a panel on how user-centred approaches can help the NHS become more patient-centred in practice.

As a non-executive director, I oversaw a major period of investment in IT, digital and data within one of the NHS’s best-performing trusts, now widely seen as an exemplar of digital delivery.

The Trust maintained its ambassador status, recognising continued progress on staff health and wellbeing. I sit on the board and people and culture committee.

The trust was named organisation of the year, recognising its work to support speaking up and raising concerns. I serve as board champion for Freedom to Speak Up.

I introduced the first event of the new North East health tech cluster, discussing how automation could improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
