I am a non-executive director and chair of the digital committee at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, an acute and community NHS hospital trust in the North East of England.
The Trust employs over 5,000 staff and provides a comprehensive range of hospital, community, and older people’s mental health services to a local population of approximately 200,000, with specialist services extending across a much wider region.
In our recent planning round, the Trust has set out a clear ambition to shift decisively from “analogue to digital”.
We are part of the Great North Healthcare Alliance, a partnership between the NHS Trusts in Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumbria and North Cumbria. Together we care for 1.3 million patients over 4,600 square miles. We employ 40,000 staff and an annual budget of around £3.4 billion.
Prior to this appointment I spent 6 years as a non-executive director at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where I chaired the board’s digital committee and oversaw a period of significant investment in IT and digital.
